It's the Economy! travel Deals

If you are looking to honeymoon travel in 2009, welcome to a world of bargains, last-minute deals, and relatively uncrowded hotels, resorts, and beaches.

Yes the world is hurting when it comes to the economy but if you are in a position to travel it is open season. From Australia to Iceland, Thailand to Costa Rica even domestic travel to hot spots like Vegas, Hawaii, California or New York, deals are everywhere. Don't know where to start, check out basics for some more cost saving tips.

Fortunately our dollar has a good outlook for 2009 if you are planning to travel internationally...it isn't half bad in the state either since typical vacation spots are not filling up like they once did.

There are two spots in particular that of exceptional value right now...Australia and the UK. How about flights to Australia for less than $500 round trip inlcuding 2 other destinations within Australia... Flights to Australia are normally around $1100 and up. This is a Quantas special, not some no name airline. Don't forget New Zealand either. The US dollar is even stronger there.

The UK has thought to be out of reach for years...but not since the pound has dropped against the US dollar. Mind you, it isn't as inexpensive as some of the south east Asia countries or our friends to the south in Chile and Argentina but it is the most affordable it has been in years.

Other parts of Europe are also affordable because the Euro is also not as strong as it was. Yes, for most parts of Europe you could always get creative to make your trip inexpensive... but I think we are all out of the college days and want a little more... and now you can. Travel Zoo is one of our favorites to get a good idea on what costs what and Fodors helps us determine our interests.

Check back with us next month, we are going to have a list of wonderful summer hot spot getaways.
